GEORGE GIGI

Born and raised by his grandparents in Auno Village in Papua New Guinea, George Gigi is an indigenous artist and singer. He also is a craftsman of uniquie jewellery and traditional musical instruments.

His love for music began when his grandparents (his grandfather being the Chief of the village) introduced him to traditional singing and dancing as a child.

A gifted musician, George can play the pan pipes, bamboo wind flute, conch shell and the suduk which is similar to the Australian didgeridoo. Not only can he play these instruments, he is a student of their history and how they were introduced to Papua New Guinea.
